I chose concrete rendering for as a subtle compliment to the side of the building as the front of the room already had a lot going on |
|
I placed my model within this environment as I wanted it to be in an open natural landscape and the lighting suited my shadows. A challenge was the shrubs making the ground uneven but I overcame this by adding additional shrubs to the front of the building to blend them in. |
|
I wanted a bright feature as the rest of the model was quite dark, however, I had to slightly darken it as it stood out too much |
|
This is the model that I photoshopped into the environment. I flipped it and warped it as it was too angular compared with the background |
|
I chose this window as I thought it made the building feel more refined and added detail to an otherwise basic window |
|
I added texture through this wooden paneling. I found the pattern aesthetically pleasing. I had to take into consideration that the scale of this would indicate that they are wide wood panels, but I decided it gave it a more luxurious feel. |
progress picture.
the window was very tedious to cut out but I thought the end result was good.

Wk 8 photoshop task: Material composition
this allowed me to visualize the model to a real-life scale |

Adding material to the initial model :
I chose these materials as they suited my aesthetic preference. The material reflected the 'plaza' which had a blue sky so I felt that the soft rose gold tones and blue complimented the blue that reflected off the glass. I used two different types of glass as I wanted to incorporate both the textures. I also liked how the glass was transparent hence you could all the grooves on the internal part of the model. I also used two different textures of the metal with a side and bottom being textured as I thought the smooth looked a bit boring but was necessary in order to balance out and not overcrowd the model. For the inside, I decided to juxtapose these other materials by using a fabric, however it continued to blend in due to the soft colour of it. |
